History

Kfar Izun founder Omri Frish and several I.D.F. (Israel Defense Forces) reserve officers established the Village to provide effective therapeutic aid to young Israelis (age 21-32) returning from backpacking journeys abroad.

The Ministry of Health, The Anti Drug Authority in Israel, The Ministry of Social Welfare, psychological specialists and leading mental health professionals joined Omri’s team and established Kfar Izun to help patients recover from their traumas and to realize their individual potential.

“As a social worker for The Anti Drug Authority in Israel, I noticed an increasing number of post army youth admitted to psychological institutions with mental imbalances due to hallucinogenic and mind-altering drugs. Further research showed us that many of the youth were former members of Israel’s elite fighting units, traumatized and highly affected by their army experience.” – Omri Frish.
