Therapy

Admission to the Kfar Izun is strictly on a volunteer basis - individuals are not sent or forced to join the program. Professionals carefully screen each applicant to determine their suitability to join the four-month Kfar Izun therapeutic program. Upon acceptance, individuals join the Village were they are supervised 24 hours a day, 5 days a week. Sessions and workshops are held including: one on one therapy, group

therapy, psychodrama, alternative therapy, sport/ physical

therapy, vocational therapy and others.

The natural surroundings of the Kfar Izun add to the treatment process. There are no fences or gates locking patients in, the village sits within a public community on the seacoast.

Patients cook their own meals and maintain their lives in an independent manner, providing a strong base for rehabilitation

to society. Outside programs such as field trips, water sports, outings and overnight camping also aid in the recovery process.

Following treatment, patients are urged to continue once a

week therapy at Kfar Izun on an outpatient basis. The staff of

the Village assist in all rehabilitation efforts including: aid in

the admissions process to colleges and universities, contact

with potential employers, help to secure safe and stable

housing, and the coordination of all additional outpatient

therapy.

The Village believes that the vast majority of patients have

high potential to become upstanding citizens and contributing members of Israeli society.
